HYFIX will sell a Rover version of MobileCM for low-cost survey, mapping and other apps that officially support the battery (and the battery will be included at time of shipment), but the current miners were not tested for this function during the build process.
Moreover, while the first batch of miners does have the charging chip, not all miners shipped will have the charging IC due to seriously crazy lead times on this part.
As a result, we are not recommending people retrofit miners with an internal battery. If there is a miner, that really wants to do it, they should contact us offline. I am concerned sharing this procedure broadly will just create needless confusion.
